Imo Govt Open To Objective Criticism – Madumere

Imo state Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere has said that the new administration in the state was open to objective criticisms in the cause of media reportage of government activities.

He told members of the correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) during an interactive session that objective criticism directed towards the state’s government activity always assists the government to improve governance to the people.

He urged journalists to always reports accurately and to criticize whenever the government policy to masses those wrong.

He said that objective criticism from the press makes governments to wake up to its responsibilities.

He commended the newsmen in Imo state for the effective coverage to the programmes and policies of governor Rochas Okorocha in his first tenure.

In his speech at the interactive forum, the chairman of the Imo State Correspondents chapel, Mr. Athan Agbakuru enumerated some of the problems facing the chapel which include among other things funds to settle her secretariat.
