Edo State Ministry of Transport has held a valedictory session in honour of the retiring Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mallam A. H. Ikhelowa, as he retires from the State Civil Service having clocked 60 years last Friday.

The session, which also served as send-forth gathering, was organised by the Commissioner for Transport, Ambassador Orobosa Omo-Ojo, in the premises of the ministry in Benin City with the management staff in attendance.

Describing Mallam Ikhelowa as a gentleman and good manager of both men and materials, Omo-Ojo said Ikhelowa is God’s gift to the Transport Ministry whose tenure as the permanent secretary made his ongoing stay as the serving commissioner worthwhile.

Responding, Ikhelowa expressed pleasure at the cordial relationship existing between the commissioner and the staff of the ministry and sued for its sustenance.

He appealed to the commissioner to maintain his fatherly role in the ministry.
