NATIONAL Union of Ijaw Students (NUIS) has expressed its confidence and support for Mr. Nicholas Mutu, House Committee chairman on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) representing Bomadi /Patani Federal Constituency, urging him to re-run for the position.
NUIS, in a statement by its ex-president, Awipi Peibulou, said the federal lawmaker has an enviable track record in the provision of scholarship to indigent students in secondary and higher institutions as well as infrastructue development spread across Bomadi-Patani areas of Delta State.
Peibulou averred that what endeared Mutu of their support was that, as the House Committee Chairman on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), he has demonstrated his zero tolerance for abandoned projects by prevailing on the commission and contractors not to neglect any project in the Niger Delta region.
The statement noted that for decades the rural dwellers of the region had suffered total absence of government presence, stressing that Mutu’s developmental drive not only to his constituents but has transformed the once forgotten communities in the region.
The group called on all sons and daughters of the Bomadi/ Patani Federal Constituency to use credible performance of their leaders that has touched the lives of the people as a yardstick to support those gunning for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency seat.
