Ahead of the 2015 governorship poll, Saliba Mukoro, former governorship aspirant in Delta State, has said that he has no plan to contest the gubernatorial election of the state or any other elective office come 2015.

Mukoro, who revealed this in a chat with newsmen at the PDP sensitisation rally in Ughelli on Tuesday, stated categorically that he would support any credible candidate for the governorship of the state so that Deltans can enjoy the dividends of democracy.

He said: “I don’t have any plan to contest the governorship seat or elective office in 2015. My ambition is to support a credible candidate for the governorship of Delta State so that we will enjoy the dividends of democracy. I have just joined the PDP but so far so good, I am satisfied with the preparation made by my people to contest elective offices.”

On whether he believes in zoning, he said, “when you talk about the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, federal character is about zoning; if you look at a diversified nation like our country, some sort of zoning will be necessary to achieve equity and fairness in sharing of offices and responsibilities. However, when you go on zoning, you must go for the best in each zone”.
