The Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria (MCN), Dr Samuel Uche, has congratulated Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, for making the state an envy of the nation.
Uche spoke weekend at a reception in honour of the state Commissioner for Rural Development, Effiong Abia, and re-dedication of church by the Methodist Church Nigeria Diocese of Oron.
The prelate, who was represented by the Bishop of Isbobini, Most Rev. Amos Akindeko, said Governor Akpabio has rebranded and placed Akwa Ibom on the world’s map and will certainly be favoured by God.
He thanked Effiong Abia for emulating his master, the governor’s spirit of generosity by reconstructing the church and prayed God to elevate him to greater height to enable him to continue rendering selfless service both to God and mankind.
Addressing the occasion, the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Rural Development, Effiong Abia, thanked Methodist Church Nigeria for giving him good upbringing from childhood and announced that his decision to get back to the church was in obedience to Akpabio’s instruction that all those working with him must get back and positively touch their areas.
