HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewan Sideso, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom has called on the Commissioner of Police, Delta state to intensify effort to get rid-of all ammunitions in Ugborikoko, Ekpan and other parts of Uwvie Kingdom.
He also urged Police to arrest persons involved in rape, kidnap and robbery for prosecution just as he appealed to the government law enforcement agencies to ban the shooting of guns and other fireworks during the yuletide.
The traditional ruler who was speaking at the final reconciliation meeting of Ugborikoko Community at his permanent Palace G.R.A Effurun on Friday November 29, 2013, also prescribed all forms of disciplinary committee/ task force in the area as he noted that such committee /task force had over the years abused by some youths whom he said arrogate to themselves the tag of disciplinary committee (DC members) of various communal youths associations.
“Rather than disperse and or subject themselves to self-disciplinary measure to become responsible indigenes first to themselves, they parade themselves as thugs, criminals and ready tools (Mercenaries) in hands of irresponsible politicians and community leaders to perpetrate crimes in the society”.
Consequently, Abe I aligned himself with the Delta State Government ban on ‘thugs and criminal’ organizations in state particularly in Uvwie Local Government Area.
“We use this medium to admonish well meaning Nigerians and non-Nigerians particularly investors, developers and security agencies in Uvwie kingdom to bring to book all the hoodlums without fear or favour.
