Ajudua Gets Injunction, As Court Remands Former Transition Chairman

A former Transition Chairman of Oshimili North Local Council of Delta State, Mr. Innocent Esewezie has been docked before a Magistrate Court in Ibusa, Delta State for allegedly killing one Mr. Emeka Onianwa.

The former Chairman who is currently being detained at Ogwashi Uku Prisons was said to have killed the victim by hitting him with several objects including knifes, cutlasses and walking sticks at Umueze Camp.

The alleged murder was said to have  occurred in the house of socialite, Chief Fred Ajudua and his wife, Hon Pat Ajudua, a lawmaker represent Oshimili North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly on April 16 this year.

However, a High Court sitting at Akwukwu-Igbo, Delta State on Wednesday granted Hon Pat Ajudua, an injunction restraining the police from arresting her; her husband and eleven others said to be connected to the alleged murdered Onianwa.

In the charge/No/MIB/48C/2015 signed by Mr. Bob College, a police officer, Esewezie was accused on a five count charge of conspiring to commit felony to wit: murder and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code Law Cap.C21 Vol. 1Laws of Delta State, 2006.

He is also charged with causing grievous bodily harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Law Cap.C21 Vol. Laws of Delta State, 2006.

Count four stated: “That you, Hon. Innocent Ezewenzie and others now at large on the same date and time at Umueze Camp area and in the house of Fred Ajudua, in Ibusa, Delta State, within the Ibusa Magisterial District sitting in Ibusa, during the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly election unlawfully attacked of one Ayo Okonkwo by hitting him with several objects including, cutlasses, walking sticks which caused him grievous harm as a result of which he was admitted at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 335 of the Criminal Code Law Cap. C21 Vol. 1 Laws of Delta State, 2006.”

The ex-Chairman was also docked for hitting one Mr. Azuka Okonkwo with several objects including knives, cutlasses, walking sticks which caused him grievous harm.
