The national body of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has appointed an interim executive committee to coordinate the affairs of the youth wing of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the organisation.
This is with a view to resolving the parallel leadership crisis now rocking youth group in the state.
The interim administration is expected to, among other things, coordinate the affairs of the organisation pending when an election will be conducted.
It would be recalled that the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, Chief Okechukwu Isiguzoro, at a town-hall meeting of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Akwa Ibom chapter, in Uyo, dissolved the EXCO of youth wing over issues bothering on parallel leadership.
Isiguzoro said the processes that threw up the factional youth wing leaderships in Akwa Ibom were not in consonance with the tenets of Ohanaeze Ndigbo constitution. Relying on the powers vested in him as the National President of Ohanaeze Youth Wing, he then dissolved the parallel leaderships of the youth wing.
In keeping with the promise that a neutral interim leadership will be appointed to coordinate the affairs of the youth wing in the state, the National Executive Council of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing has, therefore, appointed Emmanuel Ikechukwu-Jonathan as the interim state Chairman and Kayceey Chidiadi as the interim state Secretary.
