The atmosphere across the 18 local government areas of Edo State remains calm, as the state government declares public holiday to celebrate the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential election victory.
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, had on Wednesday announced the 2015 Presidential election results, declaring retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as winner.
Correspondents of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who went round some major cities and towns across the three senatorial districts of the state, reports that the atmosphere was calm as socio-economic activities were going on smoothly.
NAN reports that although offices were closed, markets and business premises opened for business.
People were seen in small groups discussing the results of Saturday’s Presidential election.
