The people of Udu Kingdom of Delta State have commended Chief Keston Okoro, member representing Udu constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly for putting the building of the Udu palace in the state budget and donating N500,000 to facilitate the project.
Speaking on behalf of Udu People, President General Union of Udu Communities (UUC), Chief Steve Sokoh, thanked the lawmaker for making effort to put the Udu palace project in the budget of Delta State government, adding that the Udu people were overwhelmed by the development and were looking forward to the completion of the project in the nearest future.
However, Okoro has expressed gratitude to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Peter Onwunsanya, for allowing the Udu palace project to sail through and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for funding the project.
Okoro, who said this while donating N500,000 to further facilitate the Udu palace project, however, assured the people that it would be completed soon, saying that as Uduaghan finishes strong, Udu palace and other ongoing projects in the various communities would be completed.
It could be recalled that during the conference of UUC held at Otor-Udu, it was only Okoro, who made a cash donation of N500,000 to the Udu palace project, other donors at the event made pledges with view to redeeming their pledges in the nearest future.
The lawmaker revealed that building of the Udu palace was one of his major priorities since his election ino the House of Assembly, adding that his second term in office when re elected on April 11 will further transform the entire 32 villages in the kingdom.
