His Majesty International School, Sapele, has moved to revive the cultural heritage among student so as to ensure unity and preserve the languages in the nation.
The ceremony took place in Sapele, Sapele Local Government Area, Delta State during her third cultural day celebration and attracted personalities from all walks of life.
According to the Director of Studies and a former Delta State House of Assembly aspirant in Ethiope West constituency, Prince Blessing Umukoro, told newsmen that the institution began academic work in September 2005.
Umukoro noted that the celebration was meant increase cultural awareness among the students, adding that students should avail themselves the opportunity to learn and appreciate their various cultures.
The former Delta State House of Assembly aspirant said that culture and moral education are prerequisite to good academic performance.
The director of studies urged students, parents, government and the general public to maintain a high standard of education.
How, in her welcome address, the principal of the school, Mrs. R.R Arhagba, said the management thought it wise to organise the event aimed at promoting our cultural heritage.
She noted that such event would enable students to appreciate our unity in diversity as they become informed about their culture and those of others.
The principal added that the event availed the students opportunity to learn different languages, mode of dressing and food of other cultures. She, therefore, advised parents to teach their children their culture for the benefit of humanity.
Umukoro drummed support for President Goodluck Jonathan and all PDP candidates in the coming general elections. He noted that Jonathan has done well for the country hence, he should be re-elected.
