A former governorship aspirant on the platform the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Ogheneovo Omene, has urged Nigerians and the people of the state to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and Ifeanyi Okowa as governor of the state.

Omene said this during a rally recently in Sapele local government area of the state, organised by the Urhobo Consultative Forum (UYCF).

Omene said that it is important for Nigerians to re-elect President Jonathan, adding that the President has done well for the country by delivering on his mandate.

He noted that the essence of the campaign was to drum up support for Jonathan, Okowa and others.

The former governorship aspirant also urged Nigerians to pray for a violence-free election and support the administration of President Jonathan. He stated that President Jonathan has done well for Nigeria and “we need to support Mr. President for a better transformation.”

Omene, while stressing the need for Deltans and Nigerians to embrace the Jonathan and Okowa candidatures, canvassed support for both of them.

Similarly, Omene has advised the leadership of the UPU to go back to the drawing board and do the needful and stop causing confusion in Urhoboland.

The rally was attended by youth, men and women across Sapele local government area, including the national coordinator of the Urhobo Consultative Forum (UYCF), Comrade Blessing _Achoja, secretary, Comrade Oba Odiri and other members.
