Edo State chairman of the Butchers’ Union, Pastor Ikponmwosa Goodluck Oruhe, has charged members of the union to collect their permanent voter cards.

Speaking to newsmen at the union secretariat in Benin City, _Orhue noted that the PVCS are the power of the voters, adding that they must ensure that they collected their PVCs.

He pointed out that the elections would determine whether Nigeria would get freedom from “political sycophants that call themselves leaders or it would remain in the dark for some unproductive years.”

According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Federal Government has failed Nigerians in terms of policies and programmes, adding: “we can no longer trust the incumbent President Jonathan to take us to the path of progress in the next four years.”

The butchers’ boss said that to achieve positive change, everybody must partake in the electoral process and urged the members to conduct themselves in a mature manner while collecting their PVCs.

He enjoined them to sell the ware they have in stock to prevent glut in the market. Speaking on the scarcity of petrol in the country, the butchers’ boss said that President Jonathan and his comrades in government do not mean well for the country.

He said that if the President cannot build new refineries, he should devise a method to repair the ones in Warri, Port Harcourt and Kaduna, rather than importing fuel at the detriment of the citizens that supposed are to enjoy low fuel price and described the fuel situation as politically motivated.
