Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has advised the electorate, who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to do so before the upcoming general elections.

He gave the advice at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rally in Onna Local Government Area.

He said it was only when people have their voter cards that they would be able to cast their votes for the candidates of the choice.

He added: “if you are ready to cast your votes for President Goodluck Jonathan, if you are ready to bring the next governor of Akwa Ibom, you must go and collect your cards.

“It is your PVCs that will ensure the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan, Udom Emmanuel and other PDP candidates in the state.’’

He urged the people of Akwa Ibom to vote for President Jonathan and all the PDP candidates in the state.

He stressed: “my message is to assure the people of Akwa Ibom, South South, South West, South East and the North are ready to vote for President Jonathan come March 28.’’

The governor announced that the PDP would soon commence door-to-door, house-to-house and neigbour-to-neighbour campaign in the state.

In his remark, Mr Udom Emmanuel, the state PDP governorship candidate, commended President Jonathan for his transformation agenda in the country.

He said “since this is the last campaign rally in all the local government areas, I want to appreciate the leaders of PDP nationwide.

“I want to appreciate the national leader of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, and the entire working committee of the party.’’

Emmanuel called on the people to massively vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and the entire PDP candidates.

He reassured the President that Onna people would give him 100 per cent votes in the forthcoming elections.
