Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, secretary of the Delta State chapter of Arise Nigeria, an advocacy group charged with the responsibility of campaigning for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan, has called on Nigerians to cast their vote for because of his performance in the last six years in office.

Secretary to the Delta State chapter of Arise Nigeria, Blessing Adima, who made the call while speaking with newsmen recently in Jesse, headquarters of Idjerhe Kingdom, noted that the overwhelming mandate President Jonathan got in 2011 election was not based on the sympathy of Nigerians but “because they believed that Jonathan has the capacity to move the nation forward.”

He stated further that the confidence reposed in Jonathan was not betrayed because some of the problems the common faced man in areas of education, infrastructure, agriculture, industrialisation had been solved.

She lamented that a majority of Nigerians were not conversant with the achievements the Jonathan-led government has put in place in the country, a situation Adima said oppositions has capitalised on to tell Nigerians that the Jonathan government had failed.

Adima said the propaganda and criticisms of the opposition would not cost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) any sleep, boasting that Jonathan’s chance of getting victory on March 28 was more than seventy per cent assured.

Adima stressed that before the Jonathan government, corruption was the order of the day in the Nigerian educational sector, adding that the administration has reduced some of the ills in the sector.
