The PDP governorship candidate for Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has promised to site an industrial estate in Urhobo land if he is elected as governor in the upcoming general elections.

He added that what is due for the Urhobo will be given to them considering that they are not only most populous but also most influential.

Okowa, who said this in Effurun when he was hosted by Urhobo youth leaders, also urged the Urhobo to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan, saying that he was the most qualified for the post.

“We don’t need North, South dichotomy, instead we need peace. And until your freedom is taken away from you, you will never appreciate the importance, especially freedom of speech we are enjoying under GEJ. So we don’t have any other choice,” he said.

As part of ways to increase employment, Okowa vowed to improve on technical education and empower women and youths through agriculture.

“We must also encourage our people to have health insurance policies through partnership with the Federal Government health scheme,” he added

The leader of the Urhobo youths, Chief Westarm Adegor, urged Urhobo youths to adopt Jonathan and Okowa as their candidate, saying that they are the most qualified for the job.

Others present at the event included Chief Ighoyota Amori, Chief Tom Amioku, Dr G.G Darah, Dr Steve Oru, and Chief Mike Adegor, among other PDP candidates.
