Delta State Director of G-15 Victory Platform, Ms Mercy Awani, has expressed confidence that Nigerians will be better off if President Goodluck Jonathan is voted to for a second tenure in office.
Awani, who spoke to journalists during the launching of the Delta State chapter of the group recently, noted that President Jonathan’s achievements in his first tenure have not got to most Nigerians, added that President Jonathan’s second tenure would enable him consolidate on his achievements.
She said Nigerians would fare better irrespective of their ethnic, political or religions inclination. This, she said, was why G-15 Victory Platform was formed to campaign for Mr. President to ensure that he wins in the February presidential election.
Awani disclosed that the group with the slogan “Goodluck Good for Nigeria” is linked with the office of Mrs Patience Jonathan and has membership strength of over 90.
Awani, who said that the group has leaders at the local government area, ward and unit level across the state, stated that the membership of the group is open to all eligible voters with PVC irrespectively of their ethnic, political and religion inclination.
She further disclosed that the group would continue to exist after the presidential election and that members would be carried along through various empowerment programmes.
While expressing gratitude to Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, the National Director–General of G15 Platform, and patrons of the group for their contributions to the growth of the group so far, Awani called for more support for the group from well meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies.
