The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken their 2015 election fight to God, as the party declared, that, apart from its own efforts, the Almighty God will fight to ensure that its candidate, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, convincingly wins the February 2015 governorship election in the state.
The party said it came to this conclusion because, “Dr. Peterside is not only a well known child of God but has also started his campaign in the best possible way by dedicating the mandate given to him by APC to fly the party’s flag to God Almighty”.
The party stated in its release signed by Chukwuemeka Eze, senior special aide on media and public affairs to the state chairman, APC Rivers State that, “We have no doubts at all that while we play our own part as humans, Almighty God himself will lead the fight for Dr. Peterside’s emergence as the next governor of our dear Rivers State”.
APC loyalists and members described as unprecedented what Peterside did on December 21 by dedicating his governorship candidature to God at the Dr. Obi Wali International Conference Centre in Port
Harcourt to God Almighty in the midst of top clergymen, politicians and other stakeholders. He stressed that it was a unique demonstration of his strong belief in God’s ability to fight for him.
Ikanya, chairman of the party, said that by inviting God to lead his campaign, “Peterside has invariably handed over the fight for the soul of Rivers State to the Almighty. God will, no doubt, fight for Rivers people against the opposition PDP, a desperate party of people well versed in the art and science of darkness and untoward acts that contradict the beliefs and godly disposition of the people of Rivers State,” he declared.
Ikanya noted that the dedication was already working wonders, as could be seen in the huge success recorded during the official flag-off of APC’s state-wide governorship campaign the next day in Port Harcourt.
According to him, “This election is now simply between the devil and Almighty God, who is leading APC’s campaign. The choice between the good people of Rivers State is between light and darkness. It is because of the seriousness we attach to the emancipation and development of Rivers State that we are presenting the very best in the person of Dr. Dakuku Peterside to continue the great work, which our visionary leader, Governor Chibuike Amaechi, will stop in 2015”.
“The task of mobilising the Rivers electorate for a resounding victory for Peterside has begun. We will do everything within our power and according to the laws of the land to ensure his smooth ride to the Brick
House and fully support him as he works to promote good governance and lead Rivers State to greater prosperity as he has promised before God and man,” Ikanya emphasised.
