Monarch of Ewu in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Alhaji Rasak Ojeifoh, has implored Nigerian Muslims and Christians to live in oneness, stressing that the Nigeria society would be better, if both religions see themselves as one.
The monarch who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen after observing the Eid-El-Kabir prayer in Ewu, urged religious bodies to imbibe God’s teaching of oneness in their daily interaction with their fellow beings.
He stressed that the nation and its citizenry would achieve a lot in oneness, admonishing politicians to refrain from heating up the polity, adding that having benefited so much from the country, the best they could do is to preserve the nation.
He enjoined them (politicians) to play the political game according to the rule, condemning attack on judges and destruction of court rooms in Ekiti State.
According to him, “The Holy Koran enjoins us to be our brother’s keeper, irrespective of our religion; we are enjoined to show love to everyone around us.
“Love your neighbour. Who is your neigbhour? Your neighbour may not necessarily be Muslim, he maybe somebody else.”The monarch also said Eid-El-Kabir celebration is meant to test the faith of Muslims faithful on God’s instruction.
In his Eid-El-Kabir Sakat, the Chief Imam of Ewu, Mallam Rilwanu Oikhaina, admonished the people to keep and practice the teachings of Allah.
He stressed that the people must believe in the oneness of God as well as believes in his messenger, Mohammed.
The symbolic slaughtering of the ram was performed by Mallam Abdulkadiri Mukhtar, the chairman of Ewu Muslim Council.
