Group tasks Nigerians on ozone-friendly environment

Nigerians have been called upon to consolidate on the gains of the Montreal Protocol by being ozone-friendly.

The call is coming on the heels of the 2014 International Ozone Day with the theme, “Ozone protection: The mission goes on.”

In a statement  jointly signed by the Executive Director of Save the Ozone, Nigeria, Mr. Ozaveshe Ade Balogun, and the Bayelsa State Coordinator of the Nigeria Association of Refrigeration and Airconditioning Practitioners, Mr. Joseph Boloukereya, noted that the success recorded by the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer has helped to redress the negative impact of climate change.

The statement pointed out that this year’s programme is expected to hold in Yenagoa in the fourth quarter of this year, tagged, Bayelsa 2014, and is being organised by the UNEP Award Winning NGO, Save the Ozone, Nigeria in collaboration with the Nigeria Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Practitioners, Bayelsa State, Ministry of Environment and other major stakeholders in the Niger-Delta
