Kenneth Kesiena Ibru, the last elected executive council chairman of Ughelli North, has emerged PDP’s flag bearer for Ughelli North Council chairmanship.
This followed the PDP primary election for the council chairmanship aspirants in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, recently.
Declaring him unopposed winner, after the primary election, the returning officer, Chief Ayerini Emami, stated that “in the absence of any other contestant, having been here for the past six hours, and by the power invested on me as the returning officer, I therefore declare Hon. Kenneth Kesiena Ibru as the sole winner unopposed.”
After endless waiting for other aspirants, the PDP legal adviser for Ughelli North Local Government Area, James Omokiniovo Olotu, moved a motion urging PDP members who by all indications were there for Kenneth Ibru, “to with one mind, one voice and in unity adopt Ken. Ibru as the sole aspirant and declare him un-opposed winner of the party primary election as the Local Government PDP flag bearer in the forthcoming local government election.”
The party’s Local Government Area Legal Adviser, Olotu, was seconded by Jaro Egbo, the Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor and executive member of PDP in Ughelli North Local Government Area and was supported by the Assistant Secretary of the party in the Local Government Area, Mrs. Akpoherenor Caro.
Based on the overwhelming support from both the executive and the floor, the returning officer, Chief Ayerini Emami, declared him the winner and Ken Kesiena Ibru, was so returned unopposed.
