Ejele Mathematics Quiz Competition for secondary school students in honour of the former Federal Minister of Finance, late Festus Okotie-Eboh, has been organized for Sapele region of Delta State.  In the final of the zonal competition keenly contested between SSS II students of Okpe Grammar School and Excellence School of Science and Technology both in Sapele, the former emerged winners with the later as first runners up while International High School emerged as second runners up. Three students each represented the winners at the finals of the contest with each contestant going home with different prizes including laptops, Ipads, school bags, note books as well as cash prizes for the teachers.

Mr. Mike Diden, the initiator of the competition, said the objective was to groom students in Mathematics, which, according to him, is the first subject on earth and very important to the study of science-related disciplines. He added that the competition which is in honour of the late Okotie-Eboh is aimed at putting Sapele into the world map, saying that since the death of the former Finance minister, little or nothing has been heard about the town.
