The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) says it will establish five more Drivers’ License Centres (DLC) in Edo State as part of the commission’s measures to meet the public demand for plate numbers.
FRSC’s Head of Section /National Drivers Licence office, Abuja, Efosa Osawe, disclosed this in Benin City during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the State Internal Revenue Service, Chief Oseni Elamah.
Osawe, who was also on tour of DLC centres in the state to assess their challenges with the aim of improving on them, said he was in the state for “Operation Blast”, in respect of the two products of the FRSC which are drivers licence and plate number because they are security products.
“We believe that now that we have a deadline of June, we want to fine-tune the processes of issuing and filling the gap where necessary, so that by the end of June which is the expiration date for the old plate number, we will be able to have a smooth shift from the old to the new system”, stated Osawe.
