NIGER leaders, under the aegis of Niger Delta Leaders Assembly (NDLA) has condemned the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) purported plans to shut down government over the 2014 budget.
The group in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Samuel Abasiekong-Abasiekong, after its emergency meeting at Ughelli recently reminded the two chambers of the National Assembly that the budget is for Nigerians and not for PDP and APC alone, as most Nigeria are not in those parties and do not even know what they stand for.
The group remarked that since APC came on board the polity has always been over heated, as its leaders constitute themselves as an affront to every beat of government’s policies and programmes not minding the already insecure state of the country visited by hostilities and insurgencies everywhere. The group further remarked that the habitual posture of APC stakeholders on mere issues has been war, war for instance, “fire for fire” promised by Rotini Ameachi, the Rivers State governor, promise of violence in the 2015 general elections by El-rufai former FCT minister, “Jonathan must hand over whether he likes it or not” by Fashola, the Lagos State governor.
The group pleaded with APC stakeholders to down every tool that would make the country much more insecured for non-partisan Nigerian. They called on APC leadership to re-direct its members in both chambers of the National Assembly and mostly in the lower chamber to support the passage of budgets or choose to maintain their position which, to the masses it would be a clear indication that APC as a party is not pro-people.
