The group, Coalition of Niger Delta Youth Vanguard (CONDYV), has called on leaders of various strata of government in the country to take youth empowerment serious.

During the inauguration of the Cross River State executive committee of the group in Calabar, the national president, Mr. Solomon Nse, said the mandate of the group is to bring together youths of the Niger Delta states to live in peace and harmony.

Nse said the group was poised to encourage positive contributions towards economic and social progress among youths in the region. “Our focus is not just to see hand-out given to the youth and they come asking again but rather to see them earn and build themselves consistently over-time.

“We are working tirelessly to encourage the education of our youths by organizing skill acquisition and to galvanize these youths for the betterment of the region.” Nse said it is the wish of the founders that in future its trainees would contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria.

Nse further disclosed that the group will establish offices in all the 18 local government areas of the state with a view to monitor and ensuring that all NDDC projects are executed to specification.
