He also appealed for information on known whereabouts of criminals among the people, nothing that otherwise they would continue to wreak havoc in their ungodly search for money.
Aduba pointed out that, “the Nigerian Police today befits this country; they are just right.” He added that to have the best police force that would serve the country very well, their welfare is crucial, adding that “the picture of any country’s police is the picture of the country.”
While appealing to the youths to be law abiding, Aduba commended the laudable effort of Agoda for his community intervention, adding that with 10 more like him in Delta State, the sky would be the limit.
In his response, Agoda promised more development to Idjerhe community, assuring the police that infrastructure like the police quarters among others would provide conducive environment for the police to carry out their work better. He commended the effort of the Delta State Police commissioner, CP Ikechukwu Adubu, for combating crime in the state, adding that without a peaceful and enabling environment, economic activities would remain at the lowest ebb.
Agoda noted that as the police station was being commissioned, the private sector has a vital role to play in the development of the society. He added that it is incumbent on them to use their God-given talent and connections to attract projects to the community.
He said that Ethiope west local government area has two divisional police stations that needed to be well equipped and supported, adding that Ethiope West local government area is the fulcrum of Delta State politics. He implored the police to beef up security awareness as the local government is a beehive of activities, being the food basket of the state, as demonstrated by the abundance of food production on market days in Jesse and Mosogar markets and industrial production activities in Oghara. He said one of the responsibilities of Delta State people is to make sure that what benefit that accrues to the state from Abuja is protected and delivered to all, including the police in the state.
