The Edo State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Mobilisation, Omorede Osifo, has revealed that in 2014, youth in the state will be empowered through skill acquisition programmes and financial support for them to get established.
She made this revelation while hosting members of the Federated chapel of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in her office in Benin City.
She said this will help to reduce youth restiveness in the state.
Osifo added that in 2014, the Principal’s Cup will be reintroduced for secondary schools.
On Social Mobilisation, the commissioner said there will be seminars and training workshops and that members of the NYSC shall not be exempted.
Also, the Chairman of the Federated Chapel, Pastor Mark Williams Erhunmwunse, said the purpose for the visit was to asquint the Chapel with the commissioner and to seek ways of partnership. He said the Federated Chapel is composed of correspondents and reporters from different print and electronic media across the country.
