The Benin Monarch, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku, Akpolokpolor, Oba Erediauwa, in conformity with the scheduled programme of the ongoing annual festival, celebrated the annual Ugie-Ewere Ceremony in his palace, Benin City with the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu, his deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu in attendance.
The ceremony as usual attracted Chief Ozigbo Esere, the Osuma of Benin Kingdom and Chief Osamede Adun, Ayobahan of Benin-Kingdom, and the Ihogbe royal family driving the conventional process of presenting the Ewere peace, progress and love to all and sundry.
It will be recalled that the Ewere ceremony depicts peace and love according to the Osuma of Benin Kingdom.
However, this year’s edition of Ewere ceremony was witnessed by the State Governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pius Odubu amongst many top government functionaries and chiefs.
