Special Assistant to Cross River State Governor on Youths, Donclaimz Enahme, has flayed those criticizing the state nominees for the Chairmanship of the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and a commissioner nominee. Enahme made the condemnation in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital in a chat with Daily Independent.

He stated that these critics do not wish the state well as they are parochial and self-serving. According to Enahme, Senator Ewa Henshaw, who is nominated as chairman of the commission, is one of the best brains in the state, his working experience and the eight years he spent as a senator are impeccable. He added that Henshaw’s maturity and his handling of public issues are all testimonies of how nature has prepared the senator for public office.

On the state NDDC commissionership nominee, Hon. Paul Adah, Ehanme described the former lawmaker as a round peg in a round hole and observed that few politicians have been as acceptable as Adah after public office.

Enahme pointed out that Governor Liyel Imoke has again demonstrated his deep knowledge of the human resources in the state and described the nominees as “a clear manifestation of putting your best foot forward and putting round pegs in round holes.”

On the 2015 gubernatorial elections in the state, Enahme declared that Imoke’s decision on zoning is democratic and acceptable by all stakeholders and the populace, at large.

Imoke, Enahme stated, “is a man with a history of putting in a good team” and recalled that in 1999 the governor had a better chance to run for the governorship of the state but he chose to put his friend, former governor Donald Duke, forward. He continued that Imoke also approached former deputy governor, under Duke, late Chief John Okpa to join forces with them (Duke and Imoke), and disclosed that the Central Senatorial Distrcit delivered about 98 per cent of its votes to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Describing Imoke, as a rare leader who connects with the people, Enahme said the governor did the right thing by zoning the 2015 governorship slot to the North Senatorial District; and stated that the youths and the elders from the zone are happy with Imoke and the decision.
