FORMER militant generals from the Niger-Delta States on Tuesday reassured President Muhammadu Buhari that they would not return to the creek and that there would be no more pipeline vandalism.

They said their decision was in line with the slogan of the All Progressive Congress (APC), ‘Change’, saying they had resolved to give room to the Buhari-led administration to bring his transformation agenda to all sectors of government and the Nigeria nation at large.

The former militants from the Niger-Delta states who spoke in their different dialects and were translated to English gave this assurance during a meeting convened by their leader, Commander Bibi Oduku, whom they all referred to as the only gateway to relative peace in the region.

One of the leaders, Gen. Peter John Togo who spoke on behalf of other ex-militants commended Commander Bibi Oduku for standing out tall to organise the former militant generals to look beyond violence, say no to going back to the creeks, kidnapping and other social vices.

They said that from the onset of President Muhammadu Buhari’s aspiration to contest for the presidential election, which he eventually won, that Commander Oduku had played major role with his security network before, during and after the victory of Buhari.

The former militants reassured the president of their total commitment to support his administration to bring the needed change to the door step of all Nigerians at home and abroad.
