Forty is a significant number in Christendom. Before his earthly ministry began, Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Elijah, before he was taken to heaven, also fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Moses, while he was waiting on God on Mount Sinai, also fasted for 40 days and 40nights; that clearly underscores the importance of the number 40 in Christendom.
It was this belief that led the members of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry to roll out drums to celebrate the 43rd birthday of their founder, general overseer, and prophet, Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, in what looked like a carnival of sorts despite an initial plan to mark it in a low key fashion.
Prophet Fufeyin, also known as “Fresh and Raw” because of his amazing overflowing anointing that is likened to that of Prophet T.B Joshua, was born 43 years ago at Ojobo town in Burutu Local Government Area, of Delta State.
His evangelical ministry started at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry before God called him to establish Mercyland Ministry in Warri.
Today, the church has grown from that humble beginning to a large congregation of over 100,000 members spread across Nigeria and even beyond. Because of the special grace and accurate prophetic ministration, Christ Mercyland Ministry has become a place of pilgrimage to miracle seekers, who throng the church from different walks of life for one spiritual solution or the other.
The man of God, who claims he has the divine mandate to free mankind in this end-time generation, has been busy attending to the people’s physical and spiritual needs. To the blind, they receive their sight; to the deaf, they receive their hearing; the poor are attended to and the sick are healed. The barren receive their miracle babies, the unemployed, after coming to Mercyland testify, and the list is endlessly.
Today at Mercyland, the rich and the poor, the powerful in society and the down-trodden, members of parliament and chief executives, Olympic athletes, football superstars, Nollywood actors and actresses, comedians, security personnel are members of the church, all jostling for the common purpose which is to serve God in spirit and in truth at a sanctuary where the miracles happen fresh and raw.
An elated Prophet Fufeyin, who was beaming with joy, used the occasion of his 43rd birthday anniversary to tell the congregation and viewers of Mercy TV all over the world about the 2015 election and Nigeria.
The man of God said that Nigerians should pray over the election for God’s intervention and for good leadership that “will do the will of God for the people according to their expectations.”
Prophet Fufeyin did not see Nigeria disintegrating after the election, saying the country would come out better and become the envy of the world.
He, however, warned that Nigerians should pray so that evil forces trying to foment trouble would be defeated, as according to him, darkness cannot triumph over light.
The prophet also enjoined the church to pray for the security personnel in their quest of defending the nation’s territorial integrity.
Prophet Fufeyin gave a graphic description of his life as a young man and his call to the Lord’s vineyard. He explained that he came from a very humble background, but God in His infinite mercies did not look at that when calling him.
Just like the story of King David, when the amazing grace of God started manifesting in his life, persecution arose, even within the church, adding that God urged him to move on. At a point in his life, the prophet stressed that he was tempted to challenge God on whether truly He is the one who called him. He, however, said God was faithful to him.
The man of God said the church was founded with few men and women of the same background, adding that through the divine mercy of God, there was a supernatural turnaround that beat his own imagination, when members of the church, who were very poor started springing becoming millionaires.
He said today, Christ Mercyland Ministry is a success story not only in Nigeria but also all over the world.
With a congregation of over 100,000 members, and a permanent site, that stands on an expense of 16 hectares of land under construction and Mercy TV beaming signals throughout the world, there is no better way to appreciate God other than to testify to the world the goodness of God in his life.
The man of God explained that through Mercy TV, thousands of people have received their healing and other miracles too numerous to mention.
Prophet Fufeyin used the occasion of the anniversary to pray for all those who came to celebrate with him, adding that, for joining him in the celebration they will forever, be celebrated. He said that those who are poor would receive miraculous breakthroughs in a matter of weeks. The prophesied that those that are looking for babies will conceive and their delivery will be like the Hebrew women and prayed to God to bless the members and the nation.
As a mark of solidarity with the man of God, many Nollywood stars led by Chinwe Owoh, also known as “Mama in the House,” Chinyere Nwanbueze, Wisdom Iyamu, Michael Honey, Elvis Obi, Harry B, Emmanuel Umeh, and Angel Philips arrived the Mercyland Church in Warri from Abuja and Lagos to celebrate with the man of God.
It was indeed an atmosphere that provoked deep emotion, as Owoh shed tears of joy while rendering a special number. Other members of the team, who spoke to the media, described the prophet as a true man of God whose humility reflected the ideals of Christianity.
Earlier in his sermon, the guest speaker, Dr. Emmanuel Okereke, of Global Success Ministries, Lagos, described Prophet Fufeyin as a unique man endowed by God for the end-time generation.
Speaking on a message entitled, “The Mysteries of Birthday”, ghe guest speaker advised the members of the congregation to rise up to the challenges of fulfilling Gods divine purpose for mankind.
He noted that God said we should rejoice with those rejoicing and prayed that all those who celebrated with the man of God will also be celebrated this year.
The highlight of the occasion was the cutting of the birthday cake and the dolling out of cash and gift items worth millions of naira to women who delivered safely according to Prophet Fufeyin’s prophesy.
