The monarch of Idjerhe Kingdom, Erhiekevwe 1, has enjoined the entire people of his community to continue to live in peace so that more development and progress will come to the community.
The royal father, who addressed journalists at the venue of a reception party he organised for the people of his kingdom after a thanksgiving service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Jesse Town. He said he was thanking God for maintaining peace which he said has brought development to_ the community.
Erhiekevwe 1 enjoined the people to ensure that there is peace all through the period of the general elections in February 2015 and that they should work together to move the community forward, assuring that he will do the thanksgiving service annually.
The deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the area, Chief Emmanuel Ighomena, who represented the people of Ethiope West during Governor James Ibori’s regime at the Delta State House of Assembly and a special guest at the event, also commended the people of Idjerhe Kingdom for living in peace throughout last year, describing the monarch as a God-fearing king who loves his people.
He said that Erhiekevwe 1 is a monarch that loves peace and loved by his people. He prayed for more years of eventful and prosperous reign for the monarch and the people of Idjerhe Kingdom.The trio of Chief John Obukohwo Nani, member representing Ethiope West at the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Tunde Omonode, General Manager, Delta Broadcasting Service, Warri, and Chief Austine Omonod, president general, Idjerhe Development Union, commended the monarch for instituting the annual thanksgiving service.
The daughter of the monarch, Princess Fustina Otadaferua, also thanked God for saving the lives of her family from the attack on the palace two years back and commending those who took out time to attend the event.
