The National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSU), University of Benin chapter, has conferred “Award of Excellence” on Delta State Commissioner for Transport, Ben Igbakpa.

Igbakpa commended the students, who came to his country home in Oghara to give him the award, saying that he was dedicating the award to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan for giving him the opportunity to serve, adding that without him (governor), he would not have been able to do anything for his people.

Igbakpa stated that the award would spur him to do more good things for his people, noting that when one is honoured, it is an indication that the people recognised the person’s good work.

The Commissioner stated further that Uduaghan has _done marvelously well in his three-point agenda and “Delta Beyond Oil” initiative, advising Deltans to pray and support him so that he can finish strong.

He said that the students formed the largest population of the electorate and that they should inform their fellow students to vote massively for the governor and other PDP candidates in all the elections.

Earlier in his address, the president of the association, Comrade Obriki Ohworode Augustine, said the purpose of the award was to appreciate Igbakpa for his transformation of the transport sector. He described the commissioner as a goldfish, which has no hiding place, noting that the more it goes down into depth of the sea, the more it radiates

Obriki noted further that the association was strongly behind PDP and the Commissioner, assuring that come 2015 general election, they will vote for PDP candidates.
