First vice chairman of Ijaw, Isoko and Itsekiri Leadership Forum (aka 3I’s), Chief Bare Etolor, says the manner the Isoko people were conducting their quest for the deputy governorship position in Delta State was a denial of the generosity of the Ijaw people.
Etolor stressed that Isoko currently hold the powerful political position of Secretary to State Government (SSG) in Comrade Macaulay Ovuozourie as concession by the Ijaw who supported Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s election. He added that during military era, Navy Commander Walter Feghabo, a Bayelsa-Ijaw posted as military administrator of Delta State retained Sir Simeon Efenudu, an Isoko man, as SSG.
The Ijaw leader said Isoko were first to be Senator from Delta South senatorial district in Mrs. Stella Omu before Ijaw-born Senator James Manager, stressing that with Ijaw not yet occupying SSG position, Isoko have had it better than Ijaw and should concede the deputy governorship position to Ijaw.
