The Commissioner representing Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe Local Government Areas on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr. Henry Ofa, has directed the contractor handling a six-classroom block sat Owisi Primary School Okuowisi in the Okpe Local Government Area to return to site immediately to complete the project for the benefit of the pupils.
Ofa, in company of his aides and others on a project inspection tour to Ethiope Primary School Ovwori, Teachers Quarters, Aragba, six-classroom block at Umiaghwa, and the renovated customary court building at Aghalokpe and another six-classroom block at St. Peter’s Cleaver College, Aghalokpe, all in Okpe Local Government, advised the contractors handling the Owisi Primary School, who had abandoned the project to come back to site immediately in the interest of the pupils, who were currently in a makeshift uncompleted building in the village receiving lectures at the time the Commissioner and his team arrived the village to the amazement of all the villagers, including teachers of the primary school.
The Commissioner was also at Umiaghwa Primary School, Umiaghwa also in Okpe Local Government Area where he handed over keys of a completed six classroom blocks to the community leader, who received them on behalf of the headmaster of the school who had already closed for the day before the Commissioner arrived the village.
Ofa who also advised the contractors handling the construction of three classroom blocks, renovation of another three-classroom block and a water borehole at Ethiope Primary School Ovwori Okpe back to site to complete the projects, was however, satisfied with the level of work done at the Aghalokpe district customary court as he handed over the keys to the completed court to the President of the Court Mrs. Grace Egbenede. He also commended the contractors who executed the teachers’ quarters of Aragba for a job well done.
The Commissioner commended the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom for the peace in his domaing.
