Late Ijaw highlife music maestro, King Robert Ebizimor, will be given a befitting state burial by the Bayelsa State Government.
Governor Seriake Dickson gave the assurance when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the legendary singer at his hometown, Angalabiri, in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.
Ebizimor was killed with his driver in early August after their vehicle rammed into a trailer in Warri, Delta State,.
The governor, who recalled the sad accident, described him as “a proud, committed and loving Ijaw man” who used his God-given talent to project, propagate and give greater meaning and appreciation for the culture and tradition of the Ijaw people.
He said Ebizimor took the culture and tradition of the Ijaw people to an all-time high and would be greatly missed by the present and generations yet unborn.
Dickson stressed that his lyrics and rhythm were not only inspirational but full of life-transforming lessons.
While praying God Almighty to grant his immediate family and community the strength and courage to bear the loss, he noted that Ebizimor’s untimely death had created a big vacuum in the musical and cultural arena of the Ijaw nation.
