Edo Transport Service (ETS), operator of Edo Line, has commenced the verification exercise of its staff at its headquarters on James Watt Road, Benin City.
Addressing the staff, Edo State Commissioner for Transport, Orobosa Omo-Ojo, disclosed that move was sequel to the directive of Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, whom he described as a “listening Governor”.
He assured them that everybody’s interest would be protected but advised them to be honest and come with their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Biometrics Form, letter of appointment and letter of last promotion among other relevant documents.
The commissioner explained that the staff audit would be carried out in categories with the drivers subjected to medical test; adding that those already working elsewhere should use the opportunity to effect their retirement from Edo Transport Service.
In his comments, the Commissioner for Establishment and Special Duties, Didi Adodo, thanked the Sole Administrator of ETS, Chief John Osamede Adun, and assured the workers that all of them would be screened and the result released from Government House.
Also, the Sole Administrator of ETS, Chief John Osamede Adun, hinted that only a few staff of the Transport Company had shown up since May, 2014 when the state governor gave the directive re-opening the company.
He wondered that very many of them had appeared for the staff audit exercise months after.
