ACTING Speaker of Edo State, PDP faction of the state assembly, Festus Ebea, has said the Federal Institute of Building Construction Technology, Uromi, in Edo State would boost the entrepreneurial potential of Nigerian youths.
He said it would also make them job creators rather than job hunters as skilled professionals in the years to come.
Ebea said the institute which commencement of academic activities is imminent is well suited for the nation’s technological revolution with a provost recently appointed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
“What we have at Uromi is going to be the first of its kind in Africa when you look at the fact that it is a novel institution which will be impacting technical knowledge and professional skills to our youths to help revolutionalize the construction industry in the country.
“From information available this school would train all the needed manpower for the construction sector be it housing, roads, bridges, erosion and flood control, name it, but in all we will be training our own manpower badly needed locally”.
