Encomium rained freely in Jagbe, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State as Pa Ferdinand Dirisu Ejekhine was turbaned and installed as the Odionwele Clan Head of Jagbe clan.
The turban/ installation ceremony was performed by the most senior chief of Jagbe clan, Alhaji Hambah Ibn Umaru, the Taqwa LLhi of Jagbe on behalf of the kingmakers/ council of elders.
In an address read by the Secretary, Kingmaker/ Council of Elders, Alhaji Sumaina Ani, said the installation ceremony followed the demise of the former Odionwele Pa, Isa Owobu Omoaka on Saturday July 12, 2014.
He said the ceremony was the second following the Appeal Court sitting in Benin City and preceded by Justice Helen Moronkeji Ogunwumiju which affirmed that the mode of succession to the Jagbe Clan Headship must be by gerontocracy (the most senior member of the clan).
He described the new Odionwele, Pa Ferdinand Ejekhine, as an educationist who has excelled in various teaching endeavours.
Addressing newsmen later, the Odionwele/Clan Head of Jagbe, Pa Ferdinand Ejekhine, lamented that his predecessor reigned without the staff of office and other benefits from the government.
